Nestled in the small city of Bangor Maine is Husson University, a 120 year old college offering affordable classroom, online, and experiential learning with undergraduate and graduate degrees. I was invited to speak to undergraduate students, faculty, and the public about careers in immersive technology, like Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Extended Reality. The event was to showcase a new Bachelor of Science in Extended Reality degree and the opening of a new iEX Center, a brand new 42,500 square-foot building that is home to a modern mixed reality production studio and experiential learning spaces.
This bold move by Husson University comes at a time when a growing number of colleges and universities are adding curriculum and degree programs to support the growing demand for spatial computing skills in manufacturing, entertainment, healthcare, gaming, engineering and much more.
